Back to school, our favorite time of year!

It was a very foggy first day of school!

Benjamin is in 3rd grade this year, and attends a 3rd/4th/5th grade school in our village now. The teacher was new to our schools last year. Benjamin seems to like her. He gets out of English lessons, but mean mom that I am, when I heard he was finding other things to do during English lessons, I sent his American workbook to school with him, and wrote a note to the teacher that I would mark the pages for him to do, and he could work on it by himself during English class. Somebody's got to be the mean mom if we want him to be able to talk to any of you when we are home next!

Noah is in Kindergarten, and in the mornings, he goes to a K/1st/2nd grade school in a nearby village, with the teacher Benjamin had last year, and in the afternoons, he attends the 3 year old/4 year old/K school with the teacher he had last year, in the same village. Four other Kindergartners do this as well, the other nine are in the 3/4/K class full time. Class splits are always a numbers game, and sometimes it's tricky. This year, there are 66 kids in 3-year-old preschool through 5th grade, split among the three schools. Some grades have as few as three kids, others as many as thirteen. Noah's very pleased that he gets to be with "the big kids" in the morning.
