Walking in Puiseux

With nice weather at home, we've been walking on the path out to the water tower and back. The rocky path runs between the villages of Puiseux-en-Retz and Soucy, between the fields.

We don't take Noah's metal detector with us, but still find some "treasures," and when the skies are blue, it's a beautiful scene.

Other US odds and ends

Benjamin passed his French driving test in June, but we thought it would be easier if he also had a Missouri license. He got his Missouri learner's permit this summer.

Missouri S&T Move-In

It seems a lot of college kids these days move an apartment's worth of stuff into their half-a-dorm-room. Benjamin got to move the way I did when I moved to France - about a suitcase full of things.

Re-packing his stuff after our stay in St Louis

All ready to go!

S&T had a fancy check-in area

and snacks!

A new Miner!

We had time to move him in and get his student ID made, and then had to throw him straight into the scholarship program orientation events.

Alabama

Our next long, long day of travel took us to Alabama and the farm.

Noah taught his cousins how to make crêpes

We drove to Atlanta to pick up Frédéric. It's a long way, so we had to stop at Buc-ee's on the way back.

When in Alabama in the summer, you should give your camera time to acclimate before taking photos

The farm tour is always an important part of a trip to Alabama

Texas

After a long, long day of driving, we arrived in Texas. The boys took the e-bikes out for a spin, and managed to make it back without getting (too) lost.

We had lunch with cousins

Benjamin lived his best life getting to drive Uncle Curtis's truck

and even better, his Chrysler Crossfire

Noah traveled back in time with Grandad Crowe's typewriter

With Aunt Claire's and Air France's permission, he DID take it to France

Not pictured: our outing to Barton Springs, a 3 acre natural pool (chilly!), and to float the river at San Marcos. The boys enjoyed it so much, they floated down it twice.
