We had storms off and on today. We can't complain, because we've had the most beautiful weather we could hope for during most of this strange period of confinement. The sun came out after dinner, and we enjoyed this treat.

Confinement Day 43: All Good Things Must End
The boys had two weeks of spring break - no schoolwork. They enjoyed the break, even if they didn't get to go anywhere or do anything different than the other days.
But all good things come to an end, and today it was back to the grindstone with distance learning.

Confinement Day 28: Only 28 more to go
President Macron spoke tonight and announced that the current confinement measures will continue through May 11th.
After that, the current plan is that we will be progressively de-confined. Places like bars, restaurants, movie theaters will remain closed longer. He hopes to re-open schools early, since there are children who are unable to keep up due to lack of means or lack of parental involvement.
Borders with non-European countries are closed "until further notice" at this point.

Confinement Day 26: Masks
We've been getting the impression from the news that sooner or later France may require masks in public, not so much to protect ourselves as to protect others from us, should we be "asymptomatic carriers."
So we decided to start preparing so if that does become a new requirement, we're ready.

Confinement: Day 23
If we had a mandatory confinement period, with good weather, for a month or two ever year, our yard might look decent. We're very thankful for the sunshine, warm weather, and a yard.

I chopped down the laurel bushes - maybe at some point we can dig them out & get rid of them |

Confinement: Day 20
It's Sunday, and tomorrow we embark on week four of distance learning, and we end week three of confinement.
We've had very pleasant weather, and we took full advantage of it this weekend to work in the yard, play games, and have a barbecue. If we had a couple of months' forced confinement every year, our yard might have a fighting chance at looking more presentable.
Benjamin made a list for tomorrow:
I said no to that last one. He said, it's on the list. It's a to-do list. So he has to now.

Confinement Day 19: Cultural Education
In an effort to encourage people to stay at home during the COVID-19 confinement period, Andrew Lloyd Weber is releasing a free musical each week on YouTube.
The boys and I enhanced our cultural education by watching Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond.
